Our Story
Over 13 years ago, on a simple Saturday afternoon, my son wanted a shirt with his favorite character on it. Being a creative and sometimes frugal father, I jokingly told him
I could make one myself.
After finding an image online, I printed it out, placed it inside a plain white t-shirt, and carefully traced the design with a permanent marker. Then I handed him some fabric markers and told him to color it however he wanted.
As soon as my daughter saw what he was doing, she wanted one too. For the next few hours, the kitchen table turned into laughter, creativity, and excitement as they colored their shirts together. By the end of the day, they proudly wore their creations like masterpieces.
How it started!
At the time, I had no idea the photos I took that afternoon would one day become
the inspiration for Color My Love.
Last year, while scrolling through old memories on Timehop, those pictures appeared again. I sent them to my kids and asked if they remembered that day. Watching their faces light up as they talked about how much fun they had made me realize something powerful the memory had lasted far longer than the shirts ever could.
That moment sparked something bigger.
While talking with a friend, I shared the idea of creating memories kids could wear. Not just a product, but an experience. A moment of connection. A keepsake tied to laughter, creativity, and time spent together.
That became the heart of Color My Love.
Because Color My Love was never just about shirts.
It’s about connection.
It’s about slowing life down for a little while.
It’s about creating moments that families carry with them long after the coloring is done.
